The recall includes certain 2010MY Chrysler 300 and Sebring, and Dodge Charger, Avenger, Challenger and Journey, and some 2011MY Ram pickup trucks, because a power steering pressure hose may leak fluid onto a hot engine and cause a fire. New Audi Q7 3.0 TDI with 204HP V6 Diesel

Image
A new EU5-compliant diesel engine has been added to the European range of its recently updated Audi Q7. The 3.0 liter V6 common-rail turbo diesel that drives Audi's large SUV delivers an output of 204HP (150 kW) and 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of peak torque available between 1,250 and 2,750 rpm. As with all Q7 models, the 3.0 TDI features a start-stop system that deactivates the engine as soon as the vehicle comes to a stop, and an energy recovery system that stores energy during deceleration, as standard. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive round out the drivetrain package. Ingolstadt's diesel-powered SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202 km/h (126 mph) with the standard suspension, and 205 km/h (127 mph) with an optional air suspension. Audi says the Q7 3.0 TDI consumes 7.2 liters per 100 km (32.7 mpg U.S.) on average with CO2 emissions of 189 grams per km (304.17 grams per mile). In German

New Toyota Recall, this time for Toyota Avalon and Highlander, and Lexus GS300, IS250, and IS350

Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of some 740,000 vehicles in the United States to address a potential leak problem with a seal in the brake master cylinder. The models that are being recalled in the U.S. are the 2005-2006MY Toyota Avalon, 2004-2006MY Highlander (non Hybrid) and Lexus RX330, and 2006 Lexus GS300, IS250, and IS350. Another 600,898 vehicles were recalled in Japan and approximately 200,000 in China for the same issue. According to the company, there's a possibility that a small amount of the brake fluid could slowly leak from the brake master cylinder, resulting in illumination of the brake warning lamp. "If the brake warning lamp has illuminated and the vehicle continues to be operated without refilling the master cylinder brake fluid reservoir, the driver will begin to notice a spongy or soft brake pedal feel and braking performance may gradually decline," said the automaker. Toyota said it will begin notifying owners of the involved vehicles through

2012 Toyota Yaris / Vitz Mini Site Launched in Japan, but Leaked Brochure Shots Reveal All

Image
Toyota is getting ready to present a new generation of its Japanese domestic market Vitz supermini, which we will come to know (with a few changes here and there) as the 2012 Yaris. For this reason, Toyota launched a mini site teasing the new car through some cropped images and text, which unfortunately, is in Japanese - any help with the translation would be appreciated. From what we understand, the new Vitz / Yaris will either be unveiled or is planned to go on sale in Japan, in December The teaser shots on the site match the leaked brochure images of the JDM car that have been making the internet rounds these past few days. The catalog pictures reveal a more aggressive and edgier styling language for the new Yaris, while we also learn that the car is 100mm longer in total length and 20 mm shorter in height, compared to the current model. It also gets a 50mm stretch in wheelbase, which should improve interior space. We'll keep an eye out for any new information and pass it on as

And if it makes you feel better, the leather bits are hand-made by a company in Germany. And how much will the Egoist cost Japanese buyers, we hear you ask? The answer is 15,000,300 Yen (~ US$184,500), or close to twice the price of the base model which starts at 8,694,000 Yen (~ USD106,900) in Japan. Scroll down for the official release and the image gal
